Throughout our lifetime there will always be times when we feel stuck or out of place, it’s inevitable. When you find yourself feeling this way remember it’s merely temporary, eventually you will make it out. In 1911, Claude Monet had a two-year hiatus, after which he emerged from creating his most ambitious paintings The Grandes Decorations. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel, but in order to make it out you need to keep moving, otherwise the light remains a mere point of hope in the distance. In a 2003 interview, Chuck Close expressed, “Inspiration is for amateurs — the rest of us just show up and get to work.” So, whether you’re feeling trapped, stuck, or simply uncomfortable, remember there’s always a way out, but it’s going to take some effort. Perspective also plays a very important role in this process. Take for example, Ai Weiwei’s work “I always want people to realize something later.” 

It’s easy to get lost in the intricate details involved in the art of paper cutting, but focusing solely on the small exquisite characteristics, you will miss the bigger picture. In life, however often or rare it might be, it’s necessary to stop and smell the flowers.
